Valentine Heart Lookbook

Heart shaped candy, sickenily cute teddies and mushy cards filling the shops everywhere can only mean one thing - 
Its Valentines day. 
Whether youre spending the day with a special someone or with Ben and Jerry this little lookbook will give you an idea on what to wear to dazzle the pants (or lid) off your date.

Day Look

If you plan to do something during the day, like a lunch/coffee date or sight seeing, a good way to go is casual. 
Guys dont always like it when we over do it during the day - it is off putting when youre trying to have a good time and all he can see is MAC Ruby Woo all over your teeth... so leave the red lippy at home and channel your girly and flirty side.

Start with a simple white jumper. Add a cute floaty skirt and you have a girl-next-door type outfit that will bound to get his heart racing. Its still a bit chilly this time of year, so wear some tights - black sheer tights work well with this look.

Keep your heels low with the day look - you dont want to embarrass yourself by falling flat on your face if he takes you somwhere that requires a lot of physical activity. My choice of foot wear are these little suede booties. So cute!

Evening look

Ah the humble dinner date. I have struggled many times on what to wear to such an occasion - and not just on V-day.
Its one thing to dress up and look stunning for your date, but to turn up looking like hootchy-mama is a disaster.

My advice, much like the day look, is to keep it simple. Less is more. 
A simple pink dress and a pair of bootie heels will not only give them a cuteness overload, but it will keep you comfortable knowing you wont have to be on the lookout for a nip-slip the whole evening...

Add a trench style coat- classy and stylish and will keep you warm during the good night walk home.
Tip from the burberry porsum collection from the catwalk - a sheer scarf with a cute pattern tucked into the coats belt and a small bag will finish off the look elegantly.

Hair and Make-up
The make up look i have created for this lookbook is a simple and romantic pink smokey eye. You can see the full details of the makeup in my post Valentines Day 2015 Makeup look HERE.

For the hair -try loose curls for an effortless and sexy look. V05 volumising hair spray is my savoiur for holding the curls in place to protect it from the weather. Come rain, sunshine or (most likely) snow, my hair will not loose those waves!

Top tip from experience - supermarkets will most likely put up the prices of icecream on valentines day... so stock up in advance!
