Hey everyone!
It's been so long since I last posted! I apologise for having such a large gap but I really needed to take a bit of a break from blogging in order to sort my life out!
Since I last posted I started my career as a radiographer for the NHS, I moved out of my mums home in Hertfordshire and into central London, and I've undergone a bit of a makeover with my hair/style/makeup etc.
It's been a really hectic and at times a very stressful and emotional ride but I'm here and I'm finally all settled in my new life! All will be explained in a later blog post, so keep your eyes peeled for that!
I thought that a good way to get back into blogging is to tell you about the skincare routine I've been using the past couple if months - probably the only thing that was perfectly consistent during this time in my life! I have noticed such a change to my skin and it has really helped to keep any stress breakouts at bay and to a minimum.
ALSO keep reading to discover the details for a GIVEAWAY I will be hosting on my log and Instagram page: @littlegem92
As usual, I have been sticking to my mantra; Cleanse Tone Moisturise.
CLEANSE
If you have read my previous blog post you know I have been loving the Aqua Aria bar. I have been using it morning and night to deep cleanse my face and remove any impurities from my face. 2 months in from receiving this product, it is still practically the same size - I have got so much use out of it, proving that (if stored correctly) it can last up to a year! For more information about he properties of this product please see my previous blog post HERE
TONE
I have been loving the Nivea Daily Essentials 2 in 1 Cleanser & Toner.
It is so gentle, compared to other toners I have been using (eg garnier), which is so perfect for for when my skin is aggravated and stressed.
I also use this morning and night to remove any makeup and impurities the Aqua Aria Bar may have missed (which FYI almost always is hardly any! Amazing!).
I use my fingers to apply it in circular motions over a freshly cleansed face and cotton wool to remove it.
MOISTURISE
Recently I have noticed my face gets oily during the day - since my new job requires a lot of running around and manual handling with patients therefore I do sometimes break into a on the more stressful days.
The Garnier Long-lasing Shine control moisturiser has helped keep my pores nice and tight throughout the day and keep the oil from coming out into my skin.
Yes, I do still get a little oily on my t-zone still - nothing a little powder can't fix though!
2-3 times a week I use the Nivea Daily Essentials Gently Exfoliating Scrub. This wash is so gentle on the skin you could probably use it daily - but at the moment my skin is still rather sensitive, so don't want to over exfoliate and create any extra redness etc.
3-4 times a month I like to treat my skin with the Mask of Magnaminty from Lush. This peppermint mask is THE perfect product to use against breakouts and angry blemishes. while the peppermint oil and the antibacterial honey stimulate the skin, the eening primrose seeds gently exfoliate the skin, leaving your face feeling so fresh and Oh-So clean! From a young age we all associate the smell of peppermint with being clean and fresh, so this product is great to get that squeaky-clean feel about your skin. This product is self-preserving, so does not need to be kept in the fridge like the other Lush masks. It is also multi-purpose, so can be used all over the body where needed. I like to use it on my back and hips as a scrub to get rid of all the build up from using a thick body moisturiser daily.
And there you have it! 5 products for a simple but very effective skin care routine to get that widely desired smooth and clear skin. Unfortunately, my skin is never 100% clear, however i have found that by using this simple routine, my blemishes are less frequent, less angry with less of them at one time.

My must have skincare product is organic coconut oil, I kid you not. I use it on my face for cleansing and moisturizing I have acne prone skin and it helps it a lot. It's weird but wonderful. I also use it for makeup removal, my eyelashes and hair. <3 I need the Aqua Aria Porcelain bar in my life because well... A few things. One being that I like the name, not gonna lie :3 and I like the way the bar looks, it intrigues me. Not only that, but I have been looking for a good facial cleanser. Many cleansers, I find, are too harsh on my skin and I'm always in the market to try something new in hopes of finding a new holy grail product. :) I've also always wanted to try a Japanese product.
ReplyDeleteHi!
ReplyDeleteI'm Tilly and I would love to enter your giveaway! Firstly, my must-have skincare product is more of a category than a specific product, but it is face wash/cleanser. I have oily, acne-prone skin so I love the feeling and benefits of washing my face, reducing the oils and caring for my breakouts! Therefore, I would love to win the Aqua Aria bar, as it is a cleanser (my favourite type of product!) and you noted that it reduces imperfections and that would be wonderful for me :)
Many thanks,
Tilly xx

Love your blog gem!
ReplyDeleteMy must have is apricot fave scrub. Micro beads in most face scrubs can get into the sea and if swallowed by fish it can kill them so I switched to a natural apricot scrub and am so glad I did, its much better for the environment and my skin feels amazing!
